Mach7 Contracts with Children’s of Alabama for Vendor Neutral Archive

Childrens of Alabama Benjamin Russell Hospital for Children

Mach7 is excited to announce another contract win – Children’s of Alabama!

Children’s of Alabama, located in Birmingham, AL, and one of the nation’s largest and top-ranked pediatric hospitals, will be using Mach7 Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) to:

  • Migrate imaging data from current archive into cost-effective VNA solution
  • Provide a scalable base for future expansions

According to Joshua Pavlovec, R.T.(R), MHA, CIIP, Children’s RIS/PACS Administrator, Children’s was moving data centers and needed to migrate its archived imaging data. At the same time, Children’s radiology department was searching for a VNA solution. Children’s decided that the most economical solution was to do a single migration onto the new VNA, as well as point its existing modalities to the VNA and have it forward images to their current PACS. As part of the implementation, Children’s will take advantage of Mach7’s data migration services to move radiology images into the Mach7 VNA. In addition to the cost savings, Children’s chose Mach7 due to its robust vendor neutral architecture, powerful tools and platform expandability.

“We were looking for a VNA solution to reduce the time, effort, and costs associated with future data migrations, and Mach7 certainly helped during our research and planning,” Pavlovec said.
